It is official..while I haven't posted since the beginning of January, we are now coming to the end and thought that I should update on the "New Beginning" my hubs and I have embarked on this past month.
I have officially started and been working almost 2 full weeks at my new placement! I am located in South Bend... yes while B works and lives in Chicago during the week, I live with my parents and work in South Bend at a local ENT office. I know the first year of marriage, 8 months a part, seems crazy, hard, and questionable of whether it is worth it or not - BUT, I am so much happier! I am loving my new placement! My family and my husband have both noted that I look calmer, happier, more content. Honestly, it's true! I was just miserable at my last placement and I have finally found a place that I am comfortable, I am being challenged, I am learning, and I am doing what I truly love to do by helping patient's hear! While this all sounds great, I do have to admit being away from my husband has been more than hard. We both have waited so long to be married, live together by ourselves, and here I go again messing up the plan. I feel terrible for him each night that he has to eat alone, watch TV alone, and sleep alone.. it truly breaks my heart that my career choice/school along with my heart and drive to be the best I can be has put us in this situation. I am so grateful to have a man who truly wants to help me in any way possible to make my dreams and goals come true. If it weren't for his help, his unconditional love, and his heart wanting the best for me I wouldn't be able to take on this new journey and life to meet my own career ambitions. I just cannot thank him, my family, and God enough for the support in this decision and in helping me follow me heart, I am truly so blessed.
In other news though.. B and I are headed up to Crystal Mountain (where we got married) for our 4th Annual Crash and Burn Ski Trip! We are so excited to get together with some of our closest friends for one of my hubs favorite things to do -ski- and in our favorite place to visit -Thompsonville, MI-! For the past three years we have planned a weekend ski trip with our friends up to Michigan and the memories we have made have been some of the best! I can barely hold back all of my excitement for what they weekend has in store and all the good times we are going to have!
Hope everyone has a great weekend! Time to pack for the ski trip... <3

The End of An Era..
It has been awhile since I have updated my pictures or my blog so I am trying to accomplish both in one night! I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season, a Merry Christmas, and a very Happy New Year!
Our travels took us to Jacksonville, Florida to be with my hubs family for Christmas. While it was a little cold, there was a lot of sunshine, and wonderful company. We had a great time with his brothers and their wive's who are both expecting this spring! We are so excited for the new additions to the family and all the changes are coming for both of them. We also got to spend time with my hubby's parents, grandma, and my most favorite yellow lab in the world. It was sad to go back to reality when it was all over, but we couldn't think of a better way to spend the holiday than with the entire Bugg clan.
In the meantime, I have been actively seeking a new internship/externship/residency position for the next 6-8 months due to many factors...and the great news is I FOUND A PLACE! Finally after a long time looking, getting a lot of no's, I got two yes's!!! The first one would have been perfect if it weren't located back in Bloomington where B (my husband) & I went to college. I would have taken it, they offered me a four day week and a small stipend, but in the end it was just to far away and too much of a burden to find a place to live, etc. The second offer that I got is a little bit closer to home in South Bend where I am from. I have decided to go ahead and take this opportunity. The practice is large, busy, and the other audiologists are great at what they do. I think that it will be a great opportunity for me to grow in my field and be better prepared to work when I finish this summer. In my head I know that it seems great for my career and B supports me 100%..I just know that this being our first year together as a married couple it is going to be bittersweet. It is hard to look your husband in the eye and tell him that I need to do this for my career, I need to be away from you. We both are very hard working, goal oriented people, and decided from the beginning that our careers were of the upmost importance to us.. it still though gets me teary eyed to know that I wont be with him each night that he isn't working late (which is few I know). The great thing about it is that I am only about an hour and half to two hours away which is sometimes how long it takes me to get to and from work now. I will be living with my parents except on weekends and one night during the week. While it will be hard transition for us, hard on our relationship, and hard on our spirit.. I know in my heart that God has a different plan for me than what I am going through right now and all I can do is put my trust in him that he will lead me down the journey he has planned for me.
Anyways..enough of the sad but good info on my career! On to NYE! B & I had purchased tickets for a club downtown with our friends. We really wanted to go, but we sort of decided that after the craziness of this year and especially this fall that we just wanted to stay in together. We ended up selling our tickets for a good amount and stayed home together! It was great! We watched football, movies, made lunch, grilled steaks for dinner, and got to the see the amazing fireworks twice right outside our balcony. I have to say that it was one of the most special days we have gotten to spend together as a married couple because for the first time in a long time we were not stressed, we didn't have any obligations to anyone or anything, and we just got to enjoy each other. I know that sounds crazy, but when life is hectic, jobs and money aren't great, it can take the smallest thing to make everything just perfect!
In ending I just wanted to look back on the ERA that was my 2010! It hard to believe that all of these amazing things happened to my hubs and I this year! We truly are blessed beyond words.
1. B graduated from IU with a bachelors & MBA in May
2. I married my best friend and the love my life in July
3. We moved to Chicago to an amazing apartment
4. I started the last and final year of my graduate program!
5. B passed the CPA
6. B started his job
I don't think that we could ask for anything more than what we were given this year. We are so blessed not only for reaching these huge milestones in our lives that we have been waiting for and working for for such a long time, but we stayed healthy and our families stayed healthy along the way. No matter how hard things are at the end of the day there is nothing more important than the ability to have God by your side to lead you on the journey of life and with our trust in him, B and I have been able to experience the love and magic of this special life that we have together.
We just want to wish everyone health, happiness, and blessings in this new year. Seek out and trust in God and his way for he will lead you were you need to go.
